Paradise Poker Review

Overall Score 8.13

When I need to grind out a quick buck or two I head over to the fish tank at Party Poker.  When I want to kick up my feet, drink a cold one, and just have some time for myself, I head to Paradise.  This is where I go to just play some poker and have fun.  This is one of my favorite poker sites on the net.  Where else can you order a beer and a hot dog while sitting at a virtual table?  They have an actual menu where you can order virtual food and drinks at the table.  The only problem is that it tends to make me hungry in real life,  so invariably I find myself ordering a pizza or some other such junk food.

Paradise Poker has been around since 1999 and for online poker, that's old school.  They've been here since the beginning and are one of the most popular poker rooms on the net.  They have a huge player base, a large variety of games, limits, tourneys, and a cool island theme to boot.  The beach theme that pops up when you launch their software sometimes makes me want to go have a surf instead of playing poker.  Their software is fast, easy to use, and did I mention has a cool island theme?  In my opinion their software is the nicest in the business.

Paradise Poker has a huge player base so finding the game you want in your limit is never a problem.  The competition is a little tougher than at Party Poker, but for some people that's not a bad thing.  If you're the type of player that absolutely hates having eight callers see the flop and want people to respect your raises a bit more, then this place is for you.  Paradise is definitely beatable, it just tends to have a few less maniacs than some of the other poker sites.

Their game variety is fantastic.  They have everything you'd expect to see in no-limit and pot-limit, as well as such games as crazy pineapple.  What is crazy pineapple you might ask?  Well it's a favorite game of mine that involves an island girl, a pineapple, and rum.  Or wait, is that something else I'm thinking of...

Unfortunately they don't have the greatest bonus offers for new players, but then again they don't really need to offer them.  Their overall package is good enough that people stay at their site because it's just better than others.  Because if you really think about it, how long is that bonus going to last you anyway?  In the long run your poker skills are what matter, not the extra couple bucks in bonus you got here and there along the way.  If you're a losing player, a few extra bucks won't stop the bleeding, and if you're a winning player, then those few extra bucks in bonus don't really matter much do they?

As far as security, Paradise is 100% safe.  They recently joined forces with Sportingbet plc, a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange (SBT.L).  You don't have to worry about your bankroll here.  They also have highly advanced software that actively tracks collusion.

Their support is fantastic.  I always receive answers to emails promptly, sometimes within minutes.  My only gripe is that as far as I can tell, they do not offer telephone support.  Cash outs are quick and painless and are processed within 48 hours, sometimes faster.  You can deposit via credit card, NETeller, FirePay, wire transfer, and bank draft bank draft.  Withdrawal options are credit card, NETeller, FirePay and check.

So go grab a beer, put on some Bob Marley, kick your feet up, and log onto Paradise.  For some reason I just never get stressed out playing here.  Maybe it's because I experience far less bad beats here than at other sites.  I don't know if it's the beer in my hand, the cool island theme, or the crazy pineapples, but I love this place.
