Poker Tracker Review

If you're going to play poker online
seriously, then you need to have some type of tracking program examining
your play. Both Poker Tracker and Poker Office do essentially the same
thing. You'll be happy with either program, it's just a matter of
personal preference.
Poker tracker records your play, allowing
you to pinpoint specific leaks in your game. You can view everything from
how often you raise pre-flop, to how many times you've cold called a raise
from middle position. It will tell you exactly how much you've won or
lost, even giving you totals from each position. Poker tracker
allows you to know for certain whether you're a winning player or not, and
which parts of your game need work.
It also allows you to track every player
you encounter at the tables. With the addition of game time,
an add-on that you can install, you are able to see real time stats on other
players at your table and adjust your play accordingly. It enables you
to identify fish and avoid other strong players.
Overall, Poker Tracker is a bit more
complicated to understand and get working right out of the box than Poker Office is. Hand
histories for some sites have to be downloaded and manually fed to Poker
Tracker. You also have to add game time (the visual HUD) manually
instead of having it pre-built into the software.
On the other hand, Poker tracker is a bit
cheaper than Poker Office at $55. It also has a replay option that
Poker Office lacks (Update: Poker Office now has this
ability as well with the release of it's new version 2.0). You can graphically replay your games in order to
find problem areas in your game. Or you can use it to show off a big pot you took
down to your friends.
Ultimately you'll be very happy with
either program. I strongly suggest purchasing one of these programs.
Tracking your play is essential to your development as a poker player. You
don't want to rely on guesses when evaluating whether you're a profitable
player or not.
