Online Poker Room ReviewsBest Deposit Bonus Absolute Poker ReviewOverall Score 8.5 If you're the type of poker player that absolutely hates seeing 8 players limp into a hand who then proceed to check and call your raises all the way to the river, then you'll love Absolute Poker. The best phrase I can use to describe the overall play at Absolute is tight-weak. Especially at the low limit tables, your raises will be respected here. Absolute Poker is the polar opposite of sites like Pacific Poker and Party Poker where free-for-alls occur frequently. At most of the low limit tables, the players are weak and will often back down to aggression. It's almost like they all downloaded our starting hand chart, and then simply check and then fold to aggression unless they hold the nuts. If they've got it they bet, if they don't they fold. It's easy to read players here, although they do get trickier as you climb up in limits. If you're the type that can't tolerate it when your raises don't get respect, then you'll love Absolute. The software at Absolute is bland, but efficient. One cool thing I will mention is that they allow you to upload your own player avatar which is pretty neat. The poker software at Absolute won't win any awards but I don't have any complaints either. It's definitely adequate for the job it's required to do. The game variety at Absolute is pretty standard fair. They offer Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo, Seven Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud Hi Lo. Once thing you'll notice immediately is that Absolute specializes in 6-max games. There are usually more 6-max tables available than full table games. And speaking of full tables, Absolute doesn't have them. Instead of seating 10 players at a full table, the max is 9. I personally didn't have a problem adjusting to having 9 or less players at a table, but then again I often play short-handed. If you absolutely require your games to be full with 10 players, then you might want to check out Paradise Poker instead. The bonuses at Absolute Poker are some of the best in the industry. They offer a 100% deposit bonus up to $750. They release the money into your account at a rate of $10 for every 100 Absolute bonus points. You receive bonus points just for being dealt cards in a hand. I found the bonus at Absolute to be one of the easiest to clear. Even at the lower limits the bonus clears fairly quickly. They are also very generous with their re-load bonuses. When playing at Absolute you should time your deposits so that you're always clearing a bonus. Overall we give Absolute Poker very high marks. If you want your game to progress beyond the simple ABC poker that you have to play at sites like Party and Pacific but aren't ready to move up in limits, then Absolute is a great option. Because the players at Absolute actually react somewhat intelligently to your actions, you can really work on what you've learned from Small Stakes Hold'em and other poker strategy books.
